Counseling SDC offers a multifaceted approach to address relational dynamics, attachment wounds, reunification needs and marital discord.

Relational Life Therapy (RLT) is an approach developed by Terrence Real that defines relationship dysfunction as a failure of mutual accountability, assertiveness, and self-esteem regulation. RLT is an empowering and direct model that emphasizes teaching partners five core relationship skills to interrupt destructive cycles, such as co-dependence and passive withdrawal, by fostering fierce vulnerability and healthy confrontation.

Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT) is a cutting-edge, attachment-based approach that emphasizes the neurobiological and physiological dynamics underpinning conflict, focusing heavily on non-verbal communication, arousal regulation, and implicit memory. PACT sessions are characterized by interventions that promote immediate, in-session enactment to observe and correct relational ruptures, teaching partners to become each other's primary source of security and stability and creating a "secure-functioning" relationship.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a cornerstone of treatment, focuses on building skills to manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and increase mindfulness. This structured approach equips individuals with practical tools for coping with distress.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful technique that helps process and integrate traumatic memories. Through guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation, individuals can reduce the emotional impact of distressing experiences. We have clinicians trained in EMDR therapy.

Somatic work addresses the mind-body connection, recognizing that emotional pain is often held in the body. Through gentle physical techniques and mindfulness, clients can release physical tension and emotional blockages, fostering overall well-being.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy offers a framework for understanding the internal world as a system of interconnected parts. By identifying and healing these internal parts, individuals can develop a stronger sense of self and improve their relationships with others. We have clinicians trained in IFS therapy.

Expressive art techniques provide a creative outlet for processing emotions and exploring inner experiences. Through art, clients can gain insights, develop self-awareness, and find new ways to communicate their feelings.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a highly structured, evidence-based cognitive behavioral approach used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by focusing on how trauma has led to stuck points—dysfunctional beliefs about safety, trust, power, and intimacy. The therapy systematically helps clients challenge and modify these beliefs through writing and cognitive restructuring, allowing them to integrate the traumatic event and reduce chronic distress.

Safe and Sound Protocol is a non-invasive, therapeutic listening program rooted in Polyvagal Theory that uses specially filtered music to gently stimulate and regulate the middle ear muscles and the vagus nerve. The goal of SSP is to tone the autonomic nervous system, moving the client from a state of defensive arousal (fight/flight/freeze) toward a state of social engagement and calm, thereby enhancing emotional regulation and reducing stress sensitivity.

By combining these modalities, Counseling SDC offers a comprehensive and individualized approach to healing, empowering clients to overcome challenges and build resilience.
